Prof. Steve Ley CBE FMedSci FRS: Founder

Prof Ley has published over 880 publications and patents and has been recognised by 43 major prizes and awards. He has a world reputation for his research into the development of new synthesis methods for the construction of biologically important molecules and the development of novel flow chemistry methods to enhance the capabilities of organic synthesis. Steve was the BP 1702 Professor of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge from 1992 to 2013 and subsequently Director of Research. In 2018 he was awarded the 2018 Arthur C. Cope Award for achievement in the field of organic chemistry research, one of the highest honours in the field.

Nikzad Nikbin PharmD PhD: CTO

Nik has a doctorate in pharmacy and a PhD in medicinal/biological chemistry. He spent 8 years in Prof. Ley’s Innovative Technology Centre at the University of Cambridge working on novel technologies such as flow chemistry, process intensification, automation/machine-assisted synthesis, biocatalysis and monolithic reactors, applying them to problems in synthetic chemistry. At New Path, he focuses on using these technologies to prepare complex functional molecules as diverse as drug candidates, agrochemicals and probes for studying biological processes.
